How to play Stick Season by Noah Kahan on guitar

Stick Season is a great beginner play-along because it has a steady, driving feel and the progression is easy to loop once you lock in the changes. You get a strong, familiar pop-folk pulse that feels rewarding quickly, even at a moderate tempo.

You can start with mostly open shapes - A, E, G, and D are the easier grips - but the chart also brings in the harder barre shapes B and F#m. The main change to watch is moving cleanly from the open chords into B and then into F#m without losing time.

Practice the opening progression slowly first, A - E - B - F#m, and make each switch on the beat. Once that feels smooth, loop the full section a few times, then bring the tempo up in small steps until it feels natural.

Use the play-along above to follow each chord change in time with the music, or learn the shapes first with the chord diagrams below.
