How to play Riri by NINEVICIOUS on guitar
These are the sounding chords. With a capo on fret 1 you play D, F, Em, C, E, G, the shapes the player above shows.
Riri is a good beginner tune to learn because the progression is simple, steady, and easy to loop once you get the feel of it. At about 120 BPM, it should sit in a comfortable pocket that lets you focus on clean changes and a smooth groove rather than speed.
You can lean on the open F shape, but most of the other chords use barre shapes, so your fretting hand will need to stay firm and accurate. The main change to watch is the opening move from D# to F# to Fm and back to D#, since that sequence asks you to switch between closely related shapes without losing time.
Start by practicing the opening progression very slowly, one chord at a time, until each shape rings clearly. Then loop D# - F# - Fm - D# in time, and only after that bring the tempo up little by little until it feels natural.
Use the play-along above to follow each chord change in time with the music, or learn the shapes first with the chord diagrams below.
