How to play One way or another by Blondie on guitar

This is a fun beginner song to learn because it moves fast and feels driving without being too complex. You get a strong, upbeat rhythm workout, and the opening progression gives you a clear hook to lock into right away.

You can start with mostly open shapes, which makes the song easier to get under your fingers. The harder barre shapes are B, F#m, F#, and C#m, so the main thing to watch is the jump from the open chords into those shapes if they come up in your chart. Keep your changes clean, especially when moving through G - D - A - Dm.

Practice the opening progression slowly first, then loop it until your changes feel automatic. After that, add the barre shapes one at a time and only speed up when you can switch without stopping. Finish by playing along with the full tempo and keeping your strumming steady from start to finish.

Use the play-along above to follow each chord change in time with the music, or learn the shapes first with the chord diagrams below.
