How to play Landslide by Fleetwood Mac on guitar

“Landslide” is a great song to learn because it feels calm, reflective, and very musical even at a beginner level. At about 80 BPM, you can focus on clean changes and let the chords ring, which makes it rewarding to play right away.

You’ll use a mix of easier open shapes and harder barre shapes, so the main challenge is moving smoothly between them. The opening progression is D# - Cm - A# - D#, and that shift back to D# is the one to watch closely so the flow does not break.

Start by practicing the open shapes on their own, then add the barre shapes one at a time. Once each change feels steady, loop the opening progression slowly, then bring it up to tempo in small steps.
