How to play Kill Bill by SZA on guitar
“Kill Bill” is a great beginner song to learn because the groove is steady, the harmony is simple, and the repeating feel makes it easy to settle in. At about 120 BPM, you can focus on clean changes and relaxed timing instead of speed. It feels smooth and controlled once you lock into the pattern.
Most of the chart uses barre shapes, so your fretting hand will need to stay firm and efficient. The open shapes F, G, and A are easier to grab, but the harder part is moving between the barre chords cleanly. Watch the opening progression D#m - G# - D#m - G# - that change comes back right away and sets the shape of the whole song.
Start by looping just D#m and G# until the switch feels automatic, then add the rest of the progression one chord at a time. Practice slowly with small, even motions and keep your fingers close to the fretboard. Once the changes feel smooth, bring it up to tempo and let the repetition do the work.
Use the play-along above to follow each chord change in time with the music, or learn the shapes first with the chord diagrams below.
