How to play Kesariya by Arijit Singh on guitar
Kesariya is a great song to learn because it moves at a relaxed pace and lets you focus on smooth, musical changes. You get a gentle, flowing feel that sounds full even with simple playing, so it is a good confidence builder for a beginner.
Most of the chart uses open shapes, which makes the song friendly on the fretting hand. The harder shapes are Fm and Gm, so if they appear later, give them extra attention. The main change to watch is the opening move from G to Am to F to D, since that shift sets the feel and can expose any rushed transitions.
Start by looping G - Am - F - D slowly until your fingers land cleanly every time. Then practice moving between the open shapes without stopping, and only after that bring the full progression up to tempo. Keep the changes relaxed, and let the rhythm settle before you try to play it straight through.
Use the play-along above to follow each chord change in time with the music, or learn the shapes first with the chord diagrams below.
