How to play Golden by HUNTR/X on guitar

Golden is a great beginner song to learn because the tempo sits in a comfortable groove and the progression feels steady and familiar. You get a strong, upbeat feel without needing a lot of flashy changes, so it is easy to lock into the rhythm and keep playing confidently.

Most of the chart uses open shapes like Em, D, C, G, and E, so your left hand can stay relaxed. The harder shapes are B, G#, and Bm, so watch for any spot where the chart moves from an open chord into one of those barre shapes. The opening Em - D - Em - D is a good example of the simple movement you will hear throughout.

Start by looping the opening progression slowly and making each change clean before you worry about speed. Then add the rest of the chord shapes one at a time, especially the barre chords, and only increase tempo after you can switch without stopping. Once the shapes feel solid, play along with the track and focus on staying steady.

Use the play-along above to follow each chord change in time with the music, or learn the shapes first with the chord diagrams below.
