How to play Stargazing by Myles Smith on guitar

Stargazing is a great beginner tune because it sits in a steady, upbeat groove and gives you a strong sense of motion without feeling too busy. You get to lock into a repeating pattern that sounds full right away, so it feels rewarding fast.

The chart mixes open shapes and barre shapes, so your left hand will need to switch between easier grips and more demanding ones. The main thing to watch is the opening move from G# to A to C#m to B, since that shift asks you to stay clean while changing shape quickly.

Start by practicing the opening progression slowly and evenly, making every chord ring clearly. Then loop the harder barre shapes on their own, and finally connect the full sequence at a relaxed tempo before bringing it up to speed.

Use the play-along above to follow each chord change in time with the music, or learn the shapes first with the chord diagrams below.
