How to play Let It Be by The Beatles on guitar

Let It Be is a great beginner song because it feels calm, familiar, and rewarding right away. You get a steady, singable groove that lets you focus on clean changes and relaxed timing instead of speed.

Most of the song uses open shapes, so your left hand can stay comfortable on C, G, Am, F, Dm, and A. The main shape to watch is Cm, since it is the harder barre chord and can slow you down if you tense up. The opening move from C to G to Am to G is the first change to lock in.

Start by switching C, G, and Am slowly until the shapes feel automatic, then add F and Dm. Once that feels solid, bring in Cm on its own and move into the opening progression at a slow count. After that, practice with the song at full tempo and keep your strums even and relaxed.

Use the play-along above to follow each chord change in time with the music, or learn the shapes first with the chord diagrams below.
